accessibility.
markpoint for every student
our commitment.
markpoint is built for every hsc and vce student, including students who use assistive technology. we want the study room to feel welcoming whether you navigate by mouse, keyboard, touch, or screen reader.
we aim to conform to the web content accessibility guidelines (wcag) 2.1 at level aa across the platform, and we treat accessibility issues as bugs, not feature requests.
what we do today.
keyboard support: core flows — signing up, writing and submitting essays, practising in the technique trainer (including answering with a/b/c/d keys), and reviewing feedback — are operable without a mouse.
reduced motion: markpoint checks your system’s "reduce motion" preference and disables decorative animation, particles, and celebration effects when it is set.
semantics and labels: interactive controls carry accessible names, status messages use live regions where they matter (for example marking progress), and headings follow a logical order.
contrast: our night-study theme is dark by design; we tune text and interactive elements toward wcag aa contrast against the chalkboard surfaces.
known limitations.
the platform intentionally uses a dark "1am study room" theme; there is currently no light theme.
some decorative, hand-drawn chalk illustrations use stylised fonts. these are cosmetic — the information they accompany is always available as plain text.
a small number of older pages are still being brought up to the standard described above. we are actively working through them.
tell us what’s broken.
if anything on markpoint is hard to use with your assistive technology — or just hard to use, full stop — we genuinely want to know.
email support@markpoint.com with the page, what you expected, and what happened instead. accessibility reports go to the top of the queue, and we will respond within two business days.
